Most of my clients are quite small.
They use free Power BI with Office 365. Some might upgrade to Power BI Pro.
Are there any guidelines or suggestions on how best to deploy free Desktop models for model consumers?
e.g. should they just run them from Desktop or publish to the web? Some of the models take data from an MS SQL Server. Does that have a bearing?

Hi @kellysolutions. Standard consultant’s answer … it depends. One consideration is the confidentiality of the data: if it needs to remain proprietary, then Desktop only sharing, while if there are no issues using fully public data, then PTW is an option. No experience using PTW with a gateway to retrieve from SQL Server, but I imagine other forum members might have more comments.
