DAX calculations for working out Car Park occupancy

Hi Team,

I am doing some work on the occupancy of car parks and am having difficulty with writing the DAX for time. In particular, there are two unique issues that I have.

I have uploaded the scenario with the questions I need answered. Unfortunately, I cannot share the Power BI file as there is some sensitive information stored within it.

Any help would be gratefully received.

How are you connecting to the data? Are you importing it or is it a DirectQuery or live connection model? The reason I ask is because it will be much easier to do the things you want to do if you can do some transformation of the data in Power Query before bringing into Power BI Desktop.

It would also be very helpful if you could attach a PBIX file with some sample data. Since your data is sensitive, you can anonymize a subset of your data before sharing by following the steps outline here:

  • Use the proper category that best describes your topic
  • Provide as much context to a question as possible.
  • Include the masked demo pbix file, images of the entire scenario you are dealing with, screenshot of the data model, details of how you want to visualize a result, and any other supporting links and details.

I also suggest that you check the forum guideline How To Use The Enterprise DNA Support Forum. Not adhering to it may sometimes cause delay in getting an answer.

Please also check the How To Mask Sensitive Data thread for some tips on how to mask your pbix file.
