Hi,
Has anyone noticed their date formats going strange, possibly since the April update? It was raised by one of our users today, on tables etc. the date format is fine but on slicers it’s coming through in American format.
I’ve done all the things suggested on this thread that was posted recently:
Date Format is different in Power BI service - Power BI - Enterprise DNA Forum
As far as I’m aware it’s a new issue so think something was broken in an update.
Date Test.pbix (101.9 KB)
Thanks,
Hi @jamie.bryan , When I open your .pbix on Desktop I see the correct UK setting:
In Desktop > options > Current File > Regional Settings… what does it say?.
Mine says’ "English (United Kingdom).
Also in Options > Global > Regional Setings…
Is your Internet Browser settings set to UK?..
Is your Windows Settings (Date & Time, Region and Language) set to UK?..
Hi @marcster_uk yes in desktop it shows correctly for me too, it’s on the service that the slicer shows as American. Does it show correctly in the service for you?
Desktop > Options > Current File > Regional Settings - Says English (United Kingdom)
Options > Global > Regional Settings:
Browser is UK
Windows is UK
It seems to be something that has changed recently with no input from ourselves, which makes me think it’s update related.

@jamie.bryan @marcster_uk
It’s the same for me, showing as american date format in the Service.
We had fixed the date in american format through the browser and Power BI settings way back, I’ve re-checked them and they haven’t changed. My colleagues can also see the American data format in the service also. This does look like a Microsoft service update has caused this.

Glad it’s not just me! Found it on the community forum, it’s a known issue they’re working on:
