What should I be able see as a Power BI Admin

Hi All,

I have been set up as a Power BI Admin in the Service and my expectation is that I should be able to see all workspaces, datasets, security and gateways etc (I didn’t expect to see private workspaces) without having to assign any rights. In fact all I can is my own workspace.

Does this mean that I would have to have access as an Admin to any workspaces that to be able make changes etc. If that is the case, is there a way I can assign a bulk update as there are hundreds of Workspaces.

Thanks

Chris

you will need to go into the Admin portal to find additional workspaces (click the gear icon in upper right, then Admin Portal)

Once there, you will need to locate the “Workspaces” menu in the left hand side:

You will see all active and deleted workspaces listed - including those you don’t have access to
You can Export, see Details (number and name of reports), Edit (the description of the workspace), see what Capacity it’s in (is this a Premium workspace), and update the access for each workspace. I don’t know of a way to bulk update all workspaces.

Thanks Heather,

Yes I know I can do that but it doesn’t help.

I wanted be able to access them via the Side Menu

I think the only way I can do that is add myself as Admin to each Workspace which would be ok if there only a handful but there are hundreds.

Thanks Melissa,

Is it possible to do a global update of all Workspaces and set myself as an Admin to each Workspace.

Thank you I have resolved my issue.

Just going into the Admin Portal and select multiple Workspaces and set the Access.

Thank You
