Web Connection with Credentials

Hello guys,

I´m trying to connect to a web page with credentials, the only thing is that to access the web page I need 3 values, and Power BI Desktop (Get data from a Web) only gives you two values.

How can I connect Power BI Desktop to this web page using the three values?

  • Use the proper category that best describes your topic
  • Provide as much context to a question as possible.
  • Include the masked demo pbix file, images of the entire scenario you are dealing with, screenshot of the data model, details of how you want to visualize a result, and any other supporting links and details.

I also suggest that you check the forum guideline How To Use The Enterprise DNA Support Forum. Not adhering to it may sometimes cause delay in getting an answer.

Please also check the How To Mask Sensitive Data thread for some tips on how to mask your pbix file.

Hello @Yeriel. We have a couple of related threads with some recommendations from other Power BI users which could help. Here’s the link where you can go to view it - Best Practice in getting data from an Excel file sourced in Sharepoint and refresh it from the PBI Service and Error Connecting to Excel file in OneDrive. Hope this helps.

I had the same situation once:
Go to Edit queries->data source setting , clear or edit this data source credential, select Basic from the window and type your username and password.

Then select the Extract table using examples : it will present an interactive window where you can preview the content of the Web page, and enter sample values of the data you would like to extract.

Try to create a new account in the website, if you don’t want to paste this url in the box :
(Get data->Web(Basic)) , then select Anonymous .

Hi @Yeriel, did the response provided by @amira.bedhiafi.pro help you solve your query? If not, how far did you get and what kind of help you need further? If yes, kindly mark the thread as solved. Thanks!
