Virtual table in DAX

Hi all,

I’m trying to create a virtual table to use as reference in calculations. The scenario is pretty straight forward:
My measure is: Operational Cost = [Total Cost] - [Food Cost] - [Packaging Cost]
All tables from which all above measures are calculated, are connected with Date table only.

I need to create a virtual table with columns:
(a) StartOfMonth (column exists already in my Dates table)
(b) Operational Cost

Am I missing some fundamental undestanding of how tables work?

To help us further analyze your current state and visualize your issue, could you please provide as many as you can of:

  • Your work-in-progress PBIX file, using sanitized data if necessary
  • Your dataset as an Excel file (again, sanitized if necessary)
  • A detailed mock-up (marked-up screenshot or Excel file) of your desired outcome.

Hi @Thimios, we’ve noticed that no response has been received from you since the 28th of April.

As @Greg mentioned above, we are waiting for the sanitized demo pbix file, data set images of the entire scenario you are dealing with, screenshot of the data model, details of how you want to visualize a result, and any other supporting links and details.
