Suggested resources for developing a data model

I am using a dataset from a transactional database rather than a star schema model from a data warehouse.
The dataset is extremely complex and I’ve truly struggled with developing a star schema data model.
I’ve thoroughly searched through the resources on the Enterprise DNA website, but haven’t found resources at the ‘advanced’ level incorporating multiple fact tables (the best resource I have found is the Data Transformations And Modeling course). I’m considering purchasing the Data Modeling for Power BI Video Course - SQLBI course (https://www.sqlbi.com/p/data-modeling-for-power-bi-video-course/).
Are there any good resources for me to use on Enterprise DNA or could you suggest any that would help me learn?

I’m a solo data analyst for my dataset within my organisation and have been working in my role for a year-and-a-half after transitioning from accounting. I don’t have any data analytics support or guidance at work. I’ve created a fairly denormalised part of the dataset which I have used so far, but I know the data model does not follow best practice which has slowed development significantly and has limited the data I can provide.

Hi @jerde.alice

There is a learning path for data model within the EDNA portal
" Data Modeling in Power BI" that consist of three courses

Go under Learning Center
click on Learning Path
browse the different paths
Click on Data Modeling in Power B
click on View Details

Sometimes using multiple fact tables will slow down your processing of your data within your Power BI report within your service.

Other resources would be youtube, Microsoft Learning etc

I hope this helps.
Thanks
Keith
