I am really excited to get the response on my question from this experienced and vast community of BI practioners.
I would be very keen to know what self-service architecture your organization follows. Some of the examples that I have seen are
Curated data layer (managed by data engineering) in Azure Synapse => Certified Datasets in Power BI (Central data analyst) => Business users have only access to only datasets.
In terms of disadvantage of the above, business users don’t have much capability to explore the datasets, e.g. query the datasets and they feel kind of restricted. and start using their own excel etc.
I believe this question pops up in everyone’s mind but sadly there is no good material available on the net. I would be very keen to know the best practice and what your organization follow to get a benchmark.
