Scheduled Refresh with API (with Bearer Token)

Kia ora.

Last year I built a Power BI dashboard to report the grape intake to our wineries over harvest here in New Zealand. I connected to the data using an API that required a “bearer token”. This token does not change. I could not get a scheduled refresh on the online service to work unless I used an Azure proxy. This was a solution I read about online (I am capable, but not an expert!).

Near the end of the harvest the scheduled refresh often failed due to Azure timeout.

I was not using incremental refresh because of the bearer token / proxy, so each refresh returned the entire data set (which ended at 3,200 rows and 69 columns - essentially one row per truck delivery).

Is there another approach I can take this harvest to reduce the risk of refresh failure? Can I avoid using an Azure proxy?

Many thanks - Jeremy
