Hi,

I’m certainly not a R whiz, but hopefully theses links point you in the right direction.

@gbortz27,

This is a super interesting question. I’m not sure whether it’s possible or not, but will be glad to dive into this question this evening after work. In the meantime, I’m looping in Enterprise DNA Poweruser @bradsmith who may know the answer offhand.

Ohhh boy… I would need to know exactly how you’d like to use the R instance in AWS. I’m assuming you’re referring to an Amazon EC2 R instance? Are you hoping to import the data, use a direct query, or include it in a visual?

Edit - Here’s the recommended configuration:

  • Install a Microsoft On-premises data gateway on an Amazon EC2 instance in the private subnet where you have all your data sources.
  • Configure the subnet to to route requests through an Amazon VPC NAT gateway in a public subnet.
  • Note: If you are going to need a highly available implementation I’d suggest adding cluster.

@gbortz27,

It would be interesting to hear more about your use case and what you’re trying to accomplish, to see whether a simpler solution like R Studio Cloud might be workable.
