Power BI Service Refresh Problem

I have a PBIX file collecting data via a dynamic URL from a business partner using a basic authentication. The refresh from the Desktop works perfectly fine, so credentials are correct.

However, when I publish this to the Service and try to refresh I get an error:

Error msg 1
Error msg 14005×1264 145 KB

In yellow the error code as well as twice the Unicode for an ampersand which Power BI Service created based on a ampersand in Power BI Desktop code. And finally the Reason as stated a privacy error.

Can anyone provide any help/insights?

Hi @Wim,

Examine this content by Chris Webb and see if that helps you solve the issue. I encountered this only once and for me the solution was to merge the M code for both queries. Instead of two I had a single query where instead of referencing another query - it was now referencing another step.

Thanks for the input, but unfortunately this (very good) content from Chris does not solve the issue. Any other thoughts. Is there any specialist I could talk to via Teams?

Sadly, not that I’m aware of…
If Google-ing doesn’t offer any promising leads, I’d suggest submitting a ticket to MSFT from the admin portal OR with the instructions below (although these might be out dated, I never tried).

If possible please post the solution, when you find it - so others might benefit from it.
