Passing data from Web Portal to Power BI

Hello Experts,

This is a bit generic question and use case that I am looking into. Dont need pbix file for that. So here is the situation:

We need to embed a Power BI report to the portal and want to test the use case where user passes : [account no] and [account name] from a web portal and we want Power BI report to get filtered with [account no] and [account name]. Is it possible in Power BI?

If yes, how? Any ideas is much appreciated!

For Power BI Service, find response below.

For Direct Query and Relational sources , can refer to below Microsoft Post where they have included option to pass values from Slicers to source. There are few limitations

For Import Mode, unfortunately there is no option to pass Parameter from Slicers. For Report Owners, What can be done is to create Power Query Parameters and use them to filter the source. Once published to service, they can be modified in Scheduled refresh section.
