Hi,
I just installed the latest Power BI Desktop available for download (December 2021) in English and it doesn’t load OData sources anymore. I don’t know with which release this problem started, but I know it worked in the past.
I connect to this OData source (it’s public and anonymous, so anyone can connect):
https://services.odata.org/v4/odata/Northwind/Northwind.svc
Then I select the Products table for load. In Power Query Editor the preview loads in no time. The table has 77 rows and the preview shows the complete table.
When I initiate loading the data into the model the loading data… windows stays there forever and no data arrives in the model.
Can anyone confirm whether this or other OData sources work or work not with the current version of Power BI Desktop, and if it works, what I might need to adjust on my side?
I also tried SQL Server source and it works with no issues.
The file with the OData connection that doesn’t load is attached.
Sample Nothwind OData.pbix (13.4 KB)
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Martin
Thank you @jbressan for your feedback! This encourage me to dig into the causes and I managed to get it running. Some changes in the settings for simultaneous loading seemed to trigger this bug. I found out the following:
- Changes from default cause issues with OData source
- Changes require restart to become effective, although Power BI does not request a restart
The problem is solved now.
