New card visual - Detail, text wrap with UNICHAR (10) doesn't work

Hi all,

I am using UNICHAR(10) in the new card visual detail section but the line break doesn’t appear to work.

Has anyone managed to get this working? I can’t see a “text wrap” option in the reference detail section.

My file is here.

@Timmay

Would it be possible to add the .pbix directly to this thread rather than on dropbox?

Hello @Timmay ,

the feature you are looking for is under the Values section of the card settings:

I was unable to open your sample file - but here is my quick test of this setting:

Hi Heather,

Attached is the pbix file.

The text wrap works for the values section, however there is no text wrap option in the reference, detail section, i’m pretty sure it’s a limitation of the new card visual.

I agree - this is missing from the New Card visual - and honestly, I didn’t realize that you could have both a detail and a reference label on the card (that’s a lot of info).

So, I found a work-around for you… and it produces the following visual:

because only the callout value allows for text wrap - I have used two measures in the card, and simply modified the formatting on the Detail Measure card to look different.

Here is an example of the “Detail Measure” font setting

versus the “Measure” font setting

you have to pay careful attention as you build this out - and it’s not optimal if you need to use the Small Multiples option or stack multiple cards. But, for a single snazzy visual - you should be able to do a fair amount.

I’ve attached the updated file - hopefully this will help.

many thanks Heather.

happy I could help - and I wouldn’t give up on them eventually releasing the text wrap function you actually wanted. It’s amazing how much flexibility they have added to some visuals in recent months.
