MySQL connection error (unblock with mysqladmin flush-hosts

Hey guys,
I hope this is the right place to try to solve this issue.
One of my gateway connectors is MySQL and suddenly (don’t know if it was when i’ve update the gateway or not) that connection stop working. Couldn’t refresh my data. Always same error. My IP address was blocked because of many connection errors. unblock with mysqladmin flush-hosts
The guy responsible with that server told me that he couldn’t do anything else.
I’m asking you guys: has this already happened with any of you? What happened? What did you do?
Thanks a lot
Pedro
