Measure to count rows in table visual

Hello,
There is a table visual in the power bi report.
I also have a measure which counts the number of rows in the table.
This measure shows the no of rows even when the table is filtered based on the slicers on the page.
Total Activities = COUNTROWS( tbl_data )

Question:
When I click on the table visual, there is a filter on the right hand side which shows all the columns and you can filter in the column drop downs in that filter tab on the right hand side of the page.
When I use that filter tab to filter, then the measure does not reflect the number of rows in the page.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Hi @arkiboys ,

Can you share pbix ?

Usually there is relationship / context problem with filtering that you described.

Dear @arkiboys

Answer: visuals are basically independent from each other. Filters on one visual basically do not influence the other visuals, as they have their own filter pane.

If the “Total Activities”-measure is presented on a different visual (like a card) then your table-visual, then it explains your unexpected number of rows-outcome.

However Power BI knows lots of interactions between visuals, like setting slicers.
Hope this answers your question.
