Left Justify Y-axis value in bar chart

Does anyone know how to left justify (align) the values in a bar chart?

I appreciate it.

Did you check youtube? check learning portal?

Nothing in Youtube on this particular method unless my search parameter off. Let me check the learning portal here at Enterprise DNA. Didn’t do that.

Thanks Keith

Hello @ysherriff,

Thank You for posting your query onto the Forum.

The solution which you’re trying to achieve is not available by default in Power BI Native Visuals. But you can vote your idea onto the “Idea Forum”. Below is the link of the post provided for the reference.

So now, while this is not achievable using native visuals you can create the same chart under Charticulator and align the Y-axis as desired. Below is the screenshot of the final results attached -

I’m also attaching the working of the PBIX file alongwith some of the links of the videos which will assist you in creating this type of chart for the reference purposes.

You can also check out the course created by our Enterprise DNA Expert @MudassirAli based on Charticulator topic.

Hoping you find this useful and meets your requirements that you’ve been looking for.

Note: I’ve created the visual just to showcase the results which you’re trying the achieve. You can modify/alter/create new charts as per your requirements. Feel free to explore the options.

Thanks and Warm Regards,
Harsh

Hi @ysherriff.

Another option to get a bar chart with left-aligned Y-axis labels is to use a standard Power BI table with data bars and conditional formatting for a transparent data value colour.

eDNA Forum - Left-aligned Y-axis

(Of course, Deneb can easily do this as well.)

Hope this helps.

Thank you Greg. I never thought about doing it that way. Ingenious. I will also check out Deneb as well.

Much appreciated for the sample file.
