Incorrect subtotal of a MTD Sales table

Hi, I need some help with a beginner question:

I calculated the month-to-date sales (=TOTALMTD( [Total Sales], Calendar[Date])) … seems ok
I calculated the prior year MTD sales (=CALCULATE([Total Sales MTD], DATEADD(Calendar[Date],-1,YEAR)) … seems ok

My issue starts when I put the measures in a table by day. The individual rows are all fine but the total of the column gives me the MTD up to today (12.3.) and the MTD LY for the full month. I.e. the MTD LY Total does is not the sum of the first 12 days but the full 31 day total.
How can this be fixed best?

Any help is much appreciated.
