Google Analytics in Power BI refresh issues

Hi All,

I am developing a web analytics dashboard in Power BI using the default ‘Google analytics connector’ available in Power BI.
I am having a painful fail whenever I refresh power query steps in both desktop and service.
I cannot figure out what exactly is happening because every time the error messages are different, and sometimes a couple of queries load and others don’t, on other times the opposite. here are the errors I often get:

  1. Waiting for www.googleapis.com — the refresh run out and fails
  2. OLE DB or ODBC error : Exception from HRESULT:0x80040E4E
3)OLE DB OR ODBC Error:[DTSource.Error] There was an internal error
I do not apply any heavy power query steps except the default steps and filter the date parameter.

What should I do? any workaround? is the issue on the google analytics API side or Power BI side?

Hello @jojo

Haven’t used Google Analytics. However a quick search has got below Microsoft link that provide some information on Connector and limitations. Please check if this is helpful.

I will suggest also to try raising issues at Microsoft Developer forum.

Thanks
