Error in Financial Template using the Format Function

Thank You for posting your query onto the Forum.

Well there’s no way out with regards to the “FORMAT()” function. That is, once you use the “FORMAT()” function it converts the format into the “TEXT” based and than it also takes away the leverage of formatting the numbers using the “Formatting” menu available under the “Measure Tools” tab since it gets grayed out.

This similar type of questions have also been posted in the past as well by the forum members but to no avail. I’m providing few of the links below of the posts that were created pertaining to this very similar topic so that you can go through and check out the solutions.

Can't change Format for Measure

Hello @YusufGillani, Thank You for posting your query onto the Forum. Well, the formatting part is greyed out because you’ve used the “FORMAT()” function in your measure. Once you use this function it converts the figures into the text format by default and sets that format. Variance column when comparing %ages

Hello @Stuart, Since you’re calculating only the % figures, you can try by removing the “FORMAT()” function from your measure and then you can simply apply the % formatting by selecting it under the “Measure Tools” option. In that way, you can still have the answer in terms of %. After this, you can simply calculate the measure for the Variance Analysis by subtracting this year totals with the last years. Bar chart with changes between absolute number and %ages

Hi I created a bar graph that is linked to a slicer for various KPI’s, that works well. The only issue I have is the data labels (i.e. when I select a slicer that is a %age, the data label shows as “0”, when I need it to show as a %age. [image] I have tried formatting these to %ages both in the slicer calc and the initial calc, with no success. Any idea how I can fix this? Kind regards Stuart
