Creating Measures outside of the Tabular Model

Hi,

I’ve had a Tabular data model built for me with 90% of the measures created in the Tabular Model.

I was then asked to create some further calculations, using those already created in the Tabular Model, so I guess I’m sort of creating them outside of the initial build.

Is there any danger to this?

@DavieJoe That’s is perfectly fine, there are 2 types of measures, model measures that the SSAS developer makes and ships with the model and then there are report measures that each individual report developer will build on top of the model measures.

Model measure - Total Sales
Report measure - Running Total of Total Sales
