I have one common Power BI report for all the schools in the region. We have embedded the Power BI Report in Web Application(login with SSO credential). If staff from School A will login then they will see School A data only and it’s working fine (We passed the filter School id with the link).
We are facing one problem, I have created a clear filter using bookmark but when staff from School A is clearing the filter then they are able to see all other school data. Not sure what I am missing . Please guide.
Hard to tell if it would work without seeing the data model, but if you know who your users are and have a way to identify which users belong to which school, using Row Level Security (RLS) would eliminate this problem.
Another option would be to change your bookmark from “all visuals” to “selected visuals” and select the specific slicers/filters you want to clear (excluding the school filter) before updating the bookmark.
Staff is accessing Report from the application because report is embedded in the Application.
RLS is implemented from the application side itself .
It’s working like Suppose Staff from School A is login so through his email id application will fetch the School id and the same school id filter is passed through parameter for the report. Suppose staff email belongs to 2 different school then data of both school will be visible.
I have tried with selected visual but again after clearing button all schools data coming.
In order to receive more detailed help, it would be very helpful if we could see a copy of the PBIX file and at least a partial data set (even if it’s fictitious data).
