Can Shape Map Filter a Slicer?

Hi All,

I am trying to filter a slicer based on the selected value of the Shape Map. Is that possible? I understand that we can’t use a measure in a slicer, so I was wondering if anyone come across the same issue and found a workaround? Potentially a disconnected table? Not sure… :slight_smile:

So in summary, the slicer does filter the Shape Map. However, I am trying to make the shape map filter the slicer!

@Hesham Not sure if after uploading the JSON file this functionality goes away but @Paul might know.

I don’t think this will work on a standard slicer, but any time you can harvest a selected value(s) (which you can do with a shape map), you can build out the DAX in combination with the filter pane to mimic that slicer action using a disconnected table slicer.

Hi,

Good question, thanks for the pbix. As far as I can tell, you cannot filter the slicer with the shapemap visual.
