Add user via audience tab

I am trying to add a user to access the dashboards by adding the user in the Audience tab of the App and then I click on Publish App.
This time it is giving a message:The following groups have failed validation:
xyz@…

and so the user does not get added to the list of users having access.

Any suggestion?
Thanks

Is this External Sharing?

no, they are internal users

If you are not responsible for managing Azure Active Directory and Security Groups, the quickest solution would be to contact the relevant Administrator for confirmation. The Tenant Admin should be able to clarify and offer advice on any Governance Practices being utilized.

Two reasonable questions:
• What are the Governance Practices concerning the management and sharing of content, workflow, and responsible parties?
• What is your proficiency with Powershell and the Power BI Rest API?

Screenshots would help to embellish your description in the OP.

The only times I get that message are when the user does not exist or the email address I am trying to use for them is not valid. This usually happens when I am making other updates to the app that have nothing to do with user access, but the user account has been removed since the last time I updated the app, so when I republish, there is an invalid user account in the audience. To resolve, I have to remove the invalid user from the audience before publishing.

Hi @DaveC, the whole backstory is that this is totally dependent on Active Directory. I do hope that @arkiboys was able to resolve his issue.
