Sage Connector V50

I’ve finally managed to connect to Sage v50 and refresh Power BI .
This works on a verison of Sage that has been downloaded to the local machine and I have used access remote data when setting up Sage on my machine.
Once I had the Sage App set up on my machine, the ODBC connectors were installed in Excel and in Power BI.
Excel uses 32bit, Power BI 64 bit.
Start in Excel and create a connection to Sage - I’ve attached screenshots of the connections for both Excel and PowerBI. Once you have set up your ODBC connection in Excel, use Microsoft Query to specify the tables - I followed this post step by step:

When you have created your query, copy the SQL code and set up the ODBC connector in Power BI - make sure you hit advanced and paste in your code. You should be good to go then.

When you publish to the service, you need to use a data gateway and set up the dataset.

Hope this helps and works, any problems, happy to help. I had help and a walk through from someone who had worked it out which helped me.

  • Use the proper category that best describes your topic
  • Provide as much context to a question as possible.
  • Include the masked demo pbix file, images of the entire scenario you are dealing with, screenshot of the data model, details of how you want to visualize a result, and any other supporting links and details.

I also suggest that you check the forum guideline How To Use The Enterprise DNA Support Forum. Not adhering to it may sometimes cause delay in getting an answer.

Please also check the How To Mask Sensitive Data thread for some tips on how to mask your pbix file.

@Sue,

Just post another comment, and mark it as the solution.

Thanks
