Formatting Negative values without converting them to a text

I would like to change the expenditure value formatting so that they appear in parenthesis. However, I don’t want to use the workaround which turns the numbers into a text. Is there any other way to achieve this?

Hi,

If your data happen to be in $, format as $ English (United States) and parenthesis will show.

Hi @Paul. I use GBP. Is this currently only available for USD?

Hi,
I could not find another way than associated with the English USD format, I use €.
Alternatively, for colouring negative/positive values I apply conditional formatting on the measure:

Avg Eur Income Formatting Color =
IF([EUR Income]<=[Avg. EUR Income Week];“f44242”;“#06890”)

Thank you, Paul. I am also using conditional formatting but thought if there was any other clever way. Let’s wait and hope MS will bring in the Excel formatting capability in full.
