Here’s how Juan- Pierre Louw described it:

Here is my submission to EDNA Health - substance abuse data analysis challenge. Dynamite comes in small packages- and this is true for this very small dataset, and on such an important topic which is more prevalent these days. I tried to stick to the basics with no “fancy analysis”, just the key detail with some recommendations

Hi everyone,

Following the brief – I focus on 2 main part:

  • different hospitalization programs comparison

  • primary mental health diagnosis analysis

For program comparison I put a KPI list as vertical table:

  • KPI list in the middle

  • Separate Columns for each program

image

Try to keep it clear and simple as possible. Also for #Psyhiatric Admission I use

  • I add additional row to separate KPI list from Top Dimensions

On the top I put summary for each program.

image

I put also dynamic summary DLA commentary measure for each program - Depends of what is pick (additional tables can be use as filters + additional IsBlank is added to not display if There is no %Patients):

DLA Commentary =
VAR DLAIm =[% DLA Improvements]

RETURN
IF( ISBLANK(DIVIDE([# Patients], CALCULATE([# Patients], ALL('Substance Abuse Programme'[Program])),0)),
"",
IF(DLAIm <=0,
"No Daily Living Activities Score (DLA) Improvement.",
" Daily Living Activities Score (DLA) improvement by " &FORMAT (DLAIm,"0.0 %")))

Instead something like this:

Finally I decide to put Tooltips (to keep clean and simple style).

image

Since demand is 1 page report different analysis around primary mental health diagnosis analysis, I used matrix :

  • primary mental health diagnosis as column

  • slided by field parameters (with different dimension options) as rows - could pick one or more

  • and number of patients as values (heat map style with conditional formatting – dark color = less patients)

All visuals are Native Power BI +I used PowerPoint for background (and info page)

Add also Info page with short description

Hope you like it.
